Decluttering tips from Peter Walsh - The SpareFoot Blog
Too Much Stuff is the biggest obstacle to a clean, functional house. I have too TMS. Do you?
A few years ago I went through every drawer, cupboard and hidy-hole on my property and sent a good two tons of stuff away (good stuff donated to a charity, bad to the dump). It was quite freeing and did make the house easier to keep up.
Unfortunately, I need to do it again. Stuff seems to grow.
So why do we keep so much stuff? Why does that work for us?
Mr. Walsh looks into this.
As far as my quest to replace store-bought cleaners with homemade, well, some good, some bad.
I am happy with the laundry soap (1 cup Borax, 1 Cup washing soda, 1 bar of grated Ivory soap, mixed well. 1-2 Tablespoons/load. 1/2 cup Vinegar for the rinse cycle.)
But the dish soap and shampoo- not so much. So far the results are pretty much "yuck." Still researching more recipes.
