The Family Business

There are many ways to make money today besides the "traditional" get a job.

Fiver- any job starting at $5. These are just small, generally one time jobs people need done. A friend of mine starting her own business needed a quick video put up on line. $5 to the person who owns the $100 software and her needs are met while he probably only spent minutes to do the work. Win win.

Craftsy- learn or teach a craft on line

Udemy- Or teach or learn anything

airbnb- Rent a couch, bed or room for one or a few nights. Helps those traveling that maybe don't have quite enough funds for hotels, or just don't want to be lonely and like to meet new people.

indiegogo- Crowd source funding- get backing for your dream for people like you.

taskrabbit- Find (or be) a local handyman, errand girl, or other temporary work.

anieslist- Find and compare different local professionals.

ParkatmyHouse - Reserve a parking space, garage or driveway

A great idea for those who leave near tourist attractions or events.

Rent you driveway to those who need parking.

I wonder if this could even be used on a daily basis: rent your driveway to someone who lives nearby and has trouble finding a parking space for work. Could be a big help to more than one family.

Won't work for us since we live too far in the boonies to be near anything anyone wants to park by, but if you live in a town, its a thought.

And of course we have to add ebay and craigslists as ways to make money with the junk errrr, treasures laying around in your way.

Any other non traditional ways to make money during this techy revolution?

(Honestly, I see this revolution of the internet as a way to regain what we lost during the industrial revolution; the cohesion of the family. No longer does dad have to go one way in the morning and mom another and the kids still others. We can increasingly go back to the whole family working together on the family business. 200 years ago that was the farm. Today that's the family blog with amazon stores, google ads, or the family house with a big driveway or a nice couch.

Not that we(my family) are actually making any money on any of our techy stuff yet, but we hope to someday. In fact, I hope each of my children find a way to support their families from home. It is the wave of the future.)
